Fatigue and Brain Fog

Fatigue and brain fog are signs of underlying imbalances in Qi, Blood, Yin, or Yang.

Instead of just masking symptoms, Chinese medicine works to improve energy, revitalize circulation, and restore mental clarity at the root.

1. Acupuncture

  • Boosts Qi & Blood circulation: Points like Stomach 36 (Zusanli) and Spleen 6 (Sanyinjiao) strengthen digestion and energy production.
  • Clears dampness & phlegm: If brain fog feels like heaviness or sluggish thinking, points like Stomach 40 (Fenglong) help clear excess dampness.
  • Calms the mind & improves focus: Du 20 (Baihui) and Heart 7 (Shenmen) stimulate mental clarity and reduce stress.

2. Herbal Medicine

Herbs are prescribed based on the root cause:

  • Qi Deficiency (low energy, brain fog, weak digestion) → Si Jun Zi Tang (Four Gentlemen Decoction)
  • Blood Deficiency (dizziness, forgetfulness, pale complexion) → Si Wu Tang (Four Substance Decoction)
  • Dampness (heavy head, bloating, sluggishness) → Shen Ling Bai Zhu San

3. Diet & Nutrition

  • Eat warm, cooked meals (soups, stews, congee) to strengthen digestion.
  • Avoid raw, cold, and processed foods, which weaken the Spleen and create dampness.
  • Incorporate blood-nourishing foods like beets, eggs, dark leafy greens, and bone broth.

4. Lifestyle & Movement

  • Gentle movement (Qi Gong, Tai Chi, walking) helps circulation without overtaxing the body.
  • Deep breathing & meditation clear mental fog and restore focus.
  • Prioritize sleep to allow the body to restore Qi and Blood.

By addressing the root imbalances, Chinese medicine helps restore lasting energy, mental clarity, and focus. Do you experience fatigue all day or at certain times?
